Job Requirements

  • 6 months or more of general experience and 6 months or more of specialized experience
  • knowledge of facility operations and marina management
  • ability to operate motor vehicle
  • ability to follow instructions and work independently
  • successful completion of an occupational questionnaire
  • males must be registered or exempt from Selective Service
  • selectee must be suitable for federal employment
  • selectee may be required to complete a probationary period
  • participation in direct deposit pay program
  • social security card required
  • employment verification (E-VERIFY) check
  • must comply with REAL ID or passport requirements for government facility access
  • satisfactory background check
  • transcripts must be included if qualifying based on education

Job Qualifications

  • 6 months or more of general experience and 6 months or more of specialized experience
  • knowledge of goals, philosophy, principles, and methods used in facility operations
  • understanding of State and Federal Guidelines concerning Marina Operations
  • familiarity with daily facility operations and routines for group activities
  • knowledge of recreational activities, equipment, rules, and procedures
  • understanding of boating terminology, watercraft operation, and safety
  • ability to operate motor vehicles
  • ability to follow instructions and recommend solutions
  • ability to work independently and provide excellent customer service
  • proficiency with office machines including cash registers and computers
  • ability to operate personal computer and perform basic word processing and spreadsheet tasks
  • strong oral and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • perform duties in support of MWR including special events
  • provide recreation information and resources
  • coordinate command and community events
  • support visiting ships and fleet operations
  • manage party and picnic rental equipment
  • oversee recreational green space and outdoor recreation
  • assist with boating and marina operations
