Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field
- five years of experience in recreation or cultural arts management
- demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
- experience managing budgets and contracts
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- ability to work flexible hours
- valid driver's license
- ability to operate personal vehicle for work duties
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in public administration, recreation management, arts administration, or related field
- minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in recreation or cultural arts management
- proven leadership and supervisory experience
- experience in budget management and contract administration
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing public recreation and cultural arts programs
- ability to develop and oversee complex programs and events
- proficiency in organizational and operational planning
Job Duties
- Plan, organize, and evaluate the work of Recreation & Community Services Division
- manage development, implementation, and evaluation of plans, policies, systems, and procedures to achieve annual goals
- participate in budget development and monitoring
- select and evaluate staff and provide coaching and disciplinary action
- provide technical guidance and assistance to staff
- administer comprehensive programs, policies, and procedures related to recreation and community services
- ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and safety programs
- develop and implement safety requirements
- serve as liaison to advisory boards
- plan and manage Moonlight Stage Productions and cultural events
- supervise artistic and business aspects of theatrical productions
- coordinate with Moonlight Cultural Foundation on marketing and fundraising
- oversee ticket services and facility rentals
- liaise with Public Arts Commission and public art programs
