Job Qualifications
- Specialized experience related to lifeguard duties
- knowledge of pool and waterfront safety rules
- knowledge of beach environment, marine life, and beach water hazards for waterfront positions
- knowledge of DoD, DON, and CNIC aquatic policies
- ability to identify hazards and patron assistance needs
- ability to enforce safety instructions tactfully and firmly
- ability to conduct safety inspections and pool chemical testing
- proficient in surf lifesaving techniques and radio communications
- ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Job Duties
- Perform lifeguard duties to ensure the safety of pool patrons
- conduct routine safety inspections of the pool and facility
- enforce pool and waterfront safety rules and regulations
- conduct pool chemical testing and adjust chemical levels as directed
- respond promptly and efficiently to emergency situations and perform rescue operations
- communicate effectively with patrons regarding water safety and facility policies
- maintain control over large groups and monitor patron behavior
