Job Description
The Paul R. Smith Fitness Center is a vital part of the Fort Benning Family & Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) program, which is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for military personnel, their families, and civilian employees. Job Requirements
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card required
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements
- One-year probationary period may be required

- Includes working weekends, weekdays, holidays and night duty

Job Qualifications
- Must demonstrate ability to offer excellent guest service
- Must have or obtain American Red Cross First Aid and CPR/AED certification within 6 months of hire
- Resumes must be two pages or less and clearly show relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities
Job Duties
- Works as a Recreation Aid (Physical Fitness) at the Paul R. Smith Fitness Center, in the capacity of receptionist and facility worker
- Responsible for cleaning fitness machines, locker rooms and pool areas
- Ensures correct, proper and safe use of all fitness equipment and explains equipment usage to guests
- Familiar with operations of the pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi and reports malfunctions to supervisor
- Opens and closes facility daily including turning on/off lights, TVs, steam room, sauna, whirlpool, stocking towels and cleaning
- Utilizes automated spa treatments and personal training appointments
- Handles money as a cashier maintaining internal control practices
- Maintains a friendly, helpful demeanor toward guests to project a positive image for the center
- Reports any problems to the Lead or Activities Director promptly
- Performs other duties as assigned
