Job Requirements
- Experience in external communications or related fields
- Experience processing open records requests
- Knowledge of CORA and FOIA statutes
- Strong coordination and organizational abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Familiarity with data privacy laws and record management
- Ability to work under deadlines
- Residency in Colorado at the time of hiring
- Six years of combined education and relevant experience
- Consent to hybrid work schedule requiring on-site presence at least two days per week
Job Qualifications
- Six years of relevant experience in communications, marketing, or content production for government or related organizations
- Experience managing open records requests compliant with state and federal laws
- Knowledge of Colorado Open Records Act and Freedom of Information Act
- Ability to interpret and apply data privacy laws and regulations
- Strong organizational and coordination skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with social media management and analytics preferred
- Previous experience in public relations or media inquiry management
- Experience working in a state government classified position preferred
Job Duties
- Manage and coordinate responses to Colorado Open Records Act requests
- Maintain and update the agency's CORA tracking system
- Collaborate with department divisions to process and respond to records requests within legal deadlines
- Review records for appropriate redactions and ensure compliance with state and federal privacy laws
- Issue invoices and track payments for records requests requiring fees
- Support media inquiry tracking and coordinate responses with internal teams
- Administer Google Vault for searching and preserving agency records
- Assist leaders by maintaining stakeholder contact lists for outreach efforts
- Serve as a backup for subpoena intake procedures and social media administration when needed
