Job Requirements
- high school graduate or equivalent
- 0-2 years of medical receptionist experience
- 0-2 years of patient billing experience
- computer literacy with scheduling and medical records software
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

- computer literacy, especially with scheduling and medical records software
Job Duties
- Greet patients and new registrants
- generate encounter forms for new registrants, patients, and walk-ins
- code and close all visits and services
- manage and collect co-payments and self-payments
- generate receipts and reconcile cash receipts
- verify registration and billing information of patients, including managed care insurance referrals
- schedule patient appointments and manage provider clinic schedules
- reschedule missed appointments
- maintain patient demographics
- answer telephone professionally and direct calls
- mail copies of medical records to appropriate departments
- create medical records for new clients
- provide patient rights and advanced directive information
- complete managed care and Medicaid transportation logs
- send consult reports to referring providers timely
- verify patient identification at each encounter
- maintain reception area cleanliness and supplies
- support quality improvement and risk management activities
- demonstrate computer proficiency for data entry and appointment scheduling
- ensure patient confidentiality
- provide courteous service to clients in person and by telephone
- remain flexible and cooperative with staff and patients
