Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • completion of an accredited medical assistant program preferred
  • at least one year of medical office or patient care experience preferred
  • knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures
  • current BLS certification required or to be obtained within 90 days of hire
  • basic computer and electronic health record (EHR) skills

Job Duties

  • Greets and directs patients, visitors, and phone calls while providing excellent customer service
  • schedules appointments, answers clinic phones, and relays messages accurately
  • reviews and distributes incoming/outgoing mail, manages faxes, and supports office correspondence and document assembly
  • maintains and orders office and clinical supplies
  • keeps workspace and common areas organized
  • assists providers with patient intake and visit preparation, including obtaining vital signs, documenting information, and preparing exam rooms
  • supports clinical procedures such as specimen collection, basic testing, and cleaning/disinfection per protocol
  • utilizes electronic systems for registration, scheduling, clinical documentation, and payments
  • communicates courteously and professionally with patients, providers, and staff both in person and by phone
  • ensures compliance with HIPAA, privacy, and confidentiality regulations
  • coordinates patient flow and assists with both administrative and clinical tasks to support smooth clinic operations
  • demonstrates professionalism, confidentiality, neat appearance, and a positive, team-oriented attitude
  • behaves and dresses in accordance with the facility’s Standards of Behavior
  • performs other duties as assigned
