Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • effective oral and written communication skills
  • strong interpersonal skills and a positive, professional attitude
  • ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
  • highly motivated and able to complete tasks accurately and timely
  • ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities

  • associate's degree in business administration or related field (experience may substitute for education)
  • previous experience in homecare, human services, or nonprofit settings
  • front desk experience
  • experience working with individuals with disabilities

Job Duties

  • Answer and route incoming phone calls to appropriate staff
  • greet and assist visitors and consumers entering the agency
  • provide support to visitors as needed
  • serve as the main point of contact for vendors and the public
  • coordinate and schedule meeting room reservations
  • receive and distribute mail and packages
  • perform general clerical duties such as filing, typing, mailings, and other administrative tasks as assigned
  • maintain confidentiality and adhere to agency policies and procedures
  • present a professional demeanor consistent with VFI's Mission, Core Values, and Independent Living Philosophy
