Our organization serves as a dedicated provider of cemetery and burial services within the Kansas City area, with responsibilities extending to multiple diocesan cemeteries as well. Job Requirements

  • Previous receptionist or secretary experience or prior customer service experience
  • Very good interpersonal skills and ability needed to work with families and co-workers
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft suite of products
  • Work with a sense of urgency to ensure burial service information is gathered and provided to all internal and external contacts
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Availability to work one 4 hours shift every third Saturday
  • Must work Memorial holiday weekend

  • Previous receptionist or secretary experience
  • Prior customer service experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with families and co-workers
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to multitask
  • Availability to work one 4-hour shift every third Saturday
  • Must work Memorial Day weekend
  • Knowledge of cemetery operations preferred
  • Practicing Catholic in good standing preferred

Job Duties

  • Answer phone call inquiries, complaints, or direct calls to appropriate personnel
  • Assist visitors by either answering their questions or directing them to the appropriate individual
  • Record complaints and coordinate resolution
  • Receive and document first call information for interment procedures
  • Research service requirements and complete information packages
  • Alert staff about details required to prepare burial space and service
  • Complete monthly reports on interments by cemetery and arrangement type
  • Maintain accurate files on deceased persons' locations, family, and services provided
  • Match invoices to customer deposits and complete electronic deposits
  • Prepare deposit slips for cash and checks
  • Maintain a cash log
  • Maintain records and coordinate winter decoration orders
  • Track sales by location and inform grounds crew
  • Receive payments and complete invoices
  • Order office supplies
  • Type correspondence
  • Maintain office files
