Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • at least one year experience in a clerical position or secretarial science program completion
  • ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public
  • ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • proficiency with 10-key calculator and working knowledge of computer systems
  • successful completion of background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screening

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • at least one year experience in a clerical position or completion of a secretarial science program from an accredited school or college
  • ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public
  • ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • proficiency using a 10-key calculator and working knowledge of computers, data input, output, and retrieval

Job Duties

  • Receive and follow reception schedule instructions from supervisor
  • operate paging and telephone systems as required
  • answer telephones and direct calls to appropriate individuals or departments
  • receive requests from within the facility and locate personnel through the paging system
  • receive inquiries and release information per established policies and procedures
  • maintain current file and listing of residents by name and room number, emergency contacts, department extensions, and key personnel
  • maintain current listing of critical residents and refer calls to nurse supervisor or charge nurse
