Job Requirements
- High school diploma or educational equivalent
- Preferably two years of prior medical office experience
- Basic computer literacy and typing
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism
- Dependability with punctual attendance
- Ability to handle emergency or crisis situations calmly and professionally
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and education activities
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of medical office experience preferred
- Basic computer literacy and typing skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational, filing, and time management skills
- Ability to handle multi-line phone systems effectively
- Knowledge of insurance verification and patient billing processes
- Familiarity with HIPAA and patient privacy regulations
Job Duties
- Provide excellent patient service by greeting patients warmly and ensuring timely and efficient check-in
- Answer and operate multi-line telephone system, take messages, and transfer calls appropriately
- Collect patient co-pays, process payments, and maintain daily accounting and cash drawer balance
- Assist with patient scheduling, rescheduling, and pre-registration processes
- Verify patient demographic information, insurance benefits, and document accordingly in practice management systems
- Communicate with patients and staff professionally to resolve concerns and gather necessary information
- Support patient privacy and confidentiality policies under HIPAA regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned by management and act as backup for other Patient Access Eligibility Specialists
