Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate
  • 2+ years of reception experience
  • prior experience with medical terminology preferred
  • ability to learn related center tasks and be of assistance to management and physicians
  • self-motivated to achieve the highest patient care and customer service standards

Job Duties

  • Answer multi-line phones
  • greet patients and vendors
  • sign patients in and out while obtaining insurance information and other necessary patient data
  • enter patient data into EHR systems
  • schedule patient appointments both on the phone and at checkout desks
  • collect outstanding balances and copays
  • provide patients with support and guidance as needed
  • maintain a safe, secure and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures
  • assist the Office Manager in creating the reception team’s weekly schedule
  • review provider schedule to utilize override capabilities when appropriate
  • address patient concerns, team concerns, and serve as a point of escalation for reception issues
  • train new team members and provide coaching for existing team members
  • serve as the point of contact for the DOCS billing team
  • process returned statements
  • develop and implement opportunities to increase efficiency
  • spot check reception work and run audits
  • review daily deposits and deliver cash deposits to the bank when applicable
  • interview candidates
  • document and file HIPAA/incident reports
  • other duties as assigned
