Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • one or more years of experience in customer service
  • preferred experience in health care setting and proficiency with office equipment
  • ability to type at least 50 words per minute
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to maintain confidentiality
  • knowledge of safety and emergency procedures
  • ability to work flexible shifts including early mornings and evenings
  • professional demeanor and ability to remain calm under pressure
  • compliance with organizational policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • greet customers and visitors in the surgery area
  • provide information and assistance to patients and families
  • communicate effectively with departments and clinical staff
  • answer telephones and record messages
  • prepare schedules and maintain appointment calendars
  • copy materials and perform typing tasks
  • manage filing and clerical organization
  • update family and friends on patient surgical status
  • coordinate communication between physicians, staff, and patients' families
  • maintain and replenish surgery lounge supplies
  • proactively assist visitors by answering questions and providing resources
  • demonstrate professionalism and respect in all interactions
  • adhere to safety and confidentiality protocols
  • complete required training and participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • manage time effectively and comply with department policies
