Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • proven experience in reception or related administrative role preferred
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • proficiency with office software and equipment
  • ability to multitask and prioritize workload
  • strong problem solving and judgment skills
  • ability to respond calmly in emergency situations

Job Qualifications

  • At minimum, a high school degree is required
  • must possess proper telephone skills
  • basic computer related skills
  • typing proficiency
  • familiarity with basic/standard computer systems (word processing) and office equipment
  • problem solving skills and use good judgement

Job Duties

  • Answers the phone by identifying the community, asks what assistance he/she can give, takes written messages and pages appropriate staff for calls
  • screens all employee phone calls and, if necessary, redirects them to the employee's department supervisor
  • greets and assists all guests in a friendly and helpful manner
  • directs to supervisor for resident information
  • sets up and uses intercom only when necessary and in a professional manner
  • uses computer software to run reports and create documentation as needed
  • takes guest meal reservations
  • delivers mail
  • addresses issues with residents or family as needed
  • reports or communicates any concerns or issues that are brought to the receptionist attention by residents, families or staff to the appropriate personnel
  • responds to emergency situations effectively and efficiently and, in case of an emergency, provides direct assistance to residents in evacuating building
  • completes annual in-service according to schedule
