Job Requirements
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
- must cope with mental and emotional stress of the position
- must have sight and hearing senses or use prosthetics enabling these functions adequately
- must function independently with flexibility, personal integrity, and ability to work effectively with diverse individuals
- must be in good general health and emotionally stable
- must relate to ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and sometimes hostile people
- may be required to lift and move equipment exceeding fifty pounds
- must have a pleasant speaking voice
- subject to exposure to infectious waste and diseases including HIV AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses
Job Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent
- some college preferred
- knowledgeable of administrative practices, procedures, and guidelines
- accurate typing, filing, and record keeping skills
- good communication skills
- ability to read, write, and speak English clearly
- ability to make independent decisions and remain calm during emergencies
- tactful in dealing with residents, family members, visitors, personnel, and government agencies
- leadership and supervisory skills
- patient, tactful, cheerful, and enthusiastic disposition
Job Duties
- Direct overall office operations
- review and recommend updates to policies and procedures
- meet regularly with the receptionist to improve service
- recruit, interview, and select personnel with approval
- schedule department work hours and assignments
- complete performance evaluations timely
- assure reception personnel perform duties appropriately
- answer and screen telephone calls
- greet and direct visitors to sign in
- type, file, copy, and maintain files and records
- prepare reports, assignments, and correspondence
- receive, sort, and direct mail and fax
- send reports to appropriate agencies
- maintain cordial relationships with residents, staff, public agencies, and visitors
- perform other related duties as assigned
