Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in medical or administrative settings preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information confidentially
- Basic computer skills
- Courteous and respectful manner with patients and staff
- Adherence to HIPAA policy
- Availability to work Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Certification in Medical Record Management preferred but not required
- Familiarity with basic medical terminology
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and maintain professionalism
- Knowledge of efficient filing systems
- Compliance with HIPAA policies
Job Duties
- Manage day-to-day patient flow through check-in process
- Unlock doors and prepare lobby area
- Greet patients and visitors with a friendly demeanor
- Serve as a resource for patients, visitors, and staff
- Answer telephone calls and direct as needed
- Obtain photo identification and insurance cards from patients
- Collect pre-pay amounts and create Promissory Notes
- Input patient personal and insurance information into electronic health system
- Assist patients with completing paperwork in compliance with HIPAA
- Set up new charts and prepare physician survey information
- Assist physicians and nurses with chart retrieval
- Communicate chart ordering needs to Business Office Manager
- Distribute mail and provide payments to Business Office Manager
- Make appointment reminder calls to patients
- Enter anesthesia charges for billing
- Maintain cancellation log and scan charts
- Perform other duties as assigned
