The City Parks, Recreation & Civic Facilities Department is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors by providing exceptional recreational programs, facilities, and services. This department manages various community spaces including parks, recreational centers, and civic facilities that encourage active lifestyles and foster community engagement. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One or more years of related experience or any combination of education and work experience
  • Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR/AED certification from recognized organizations
  • Skills in telephone etiquette and detailed record keeping
  • Knowledge of computer software and general office procedures
  • Ability to handle money accurately
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Valid driver’s license preferred
  • Must pass drug screening and criminal background check prior to employment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One or more years of clerical or customer service experience
  • Knowledge of telephone etiquette
  • Skilled in record keeping and working with numbers
  • Familiarity with computer software and general office procedures
  • Ability to operate fax machines, copy machines, and other office equipment
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn new software programs associated with the REC Center
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Greets REC Center patrons and guests and provides exceptional customer service
  • Answers and handles incoming calls and interacts with the public
  • Verifies membership and provides entry to fitness area
  • Issues one-day passes and performs cashiering duties for fitness area entrance
  • Performs general clerical duties for the REC Center
  • Assists in the concession areas when necessary
  • Assists with daily reports and deposits
  • Assists REC Center Supervisor with scheduling facility rentals and events
  • Tracks memberships, fitness classes and walking track patrons
  • Serves as back up for the administrative office personnel when needed
  • Assists with various activities and events in the REC Center
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned
