Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prefer one year work experience in a medical front office setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and general computer use
  • Familiarity with Cerner computer scheduling system
  • Ability to handle multi-line telephone system
  • Skill in operating office equipment including photocopier and telephone system

  • Knowledge of medical terminology desirable

  • Knowledge of medical front office procedures
  • Knowledge of Cerner computer scheduling system
  • Ability to utilize Windows-based software programs
  • Skill in greeting patients and answering a busy multi-line telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner
  • Skill in operating a computer, photocopy machine, and telephone system

Job Duties

  • Greet and check patients out after their clinic appointments
  • Schedule return appointments
  • Collect co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance
  • Complete authorization process and insurance benefits verification
  • Greet and check-in patients arriving for clinic appointments
  • Ensure proper paperwork is completed and route patient chart to appropriate location
  • Serve as a liaison between patient and medical support staff
