Job Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Three years receptionist experience including two years database experience
  • Excellent telephone skills and ability to stay calm in stressful situations
  • Working proficiency with MS Office products
  • Knowledge of Parish Data Systems a plus
  • Solid organization skills and ability to work independently
  • Requires an appreciation and respect for the Catholic Church and its teachings
  • Church employees must conduct themselves in a manner consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Church
  • Their public behavior must not violate the faith, morals or laws of the Church or the policies of the diocese

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three years of receptionist experience including two years of database management
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of Parish Data Systems is a plus
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent telephone etiquette and communication skills
  • Understanding and respect for Catholic Church teachings
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional conduct consistent with church policies

Job Duties

  • Greet visitors and callers warmly and direct them appropriately
  • Maintain a neat and orderly reception area and workspace
  • Manage all telephone communications including answering questions and directing calls
  • Maintain records related to Mass Intentions and coordinate with the facilities scheduler
  • Receive, sort, and distribute mail and packages, applying postage when necessary
  • Process financial transactions and provide written receipts as required
  • Handle intake and processing of sick calls for priests
  • Monitor and communicate messages, prayer requests, and other correspondence in a timely manner
  • Record new members, process welcome letters, and update parishioner information
  • Maintain confidentiality in all duties
  • Collaborate with church staff to support smooth office operations
  • Complete special projects and other assigned tasks as needed
