Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Completion of an administrative training program preferred
- One year practice-based experience or similar healthcare setting preferred
- Familiarity with dental processes, coding, and terminology
- Customer service experience
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for up to 8 hours
- Use fingers continually for typing and patient care
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Ability to push carts with supplies up to 30 pounds occasionally
- Ability to push wheelchairs weighing up to 325 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stoop, bend, and reach above shoulder level
- Ability to hear normal conversation and possess good near and peripheral vision

Job Duties
- Perform administrative service functions with patients including answering phones, check-in, chart preparation and filing, obtaining referrals and x-rays, patient consent, check-out, pre-registration and real-time eligibility verification, registration, appointment and testing scheduling at check-out, point of service payment collection, and addressing patient inquiries such as form and medical record requests
- Facilitate practice opening and closing procedures, maintain practice cleanliness, process incoming mail and deliveries, manage cash and reconciliation, and scan and index incoming faxes promptly
- Perform queries to providers regarding documentation, diagnosis coding, and procedural coding
- Enter all charges and create and release clean claims daily
- Create treatment plans based on insurance coverage and provide accurate patient cost estimates for procedures
- Create patient correspondence for referring doctors
- Carry out other related duties as assigned
