Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Willingness to work with adults with disabilities
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be CPR, CPI, and First Aid certified on date of employment or obtain within 60 days
  • Successful completion of post-offer physical exam
  • Two-step PPD test for tuberculosis
  • Acceptable criminal background clearance
  • Excluded party sanctions clearance
  • Degree or license verification as applicable
  • Valid driver’s license, motor vehicle clearance, and proof of auto insurance if driving is required
  • Ability to perform physical demands including walking, standing, bending, squatting, twisting, reaching, lifting up to 25 pounds
  • Manual dexterity and repetition required

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Willingness to work with adults with disabilities
  • CPR certified or able to obtain within 60 days
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certified or able to obtain within 60 days
  • First Aid certified or able to obtain within 60 days
  • One year of experience as a receptionist preferred
  • Courses in typing, word processing, and general office procedures preferred
  • Ability to type 50 WPM
  • Excellent public relations and communication skills

Job Duties

  • Demonstrates the Telecare mission, purpose, values, and beliefs in everyday language and contact with stakeholders
  • Operates the phone console by answering incoming calls, determining the need of the caller, and relaying the call
  • Greets visitors, ascertaining their needs and providing direction as needed
  • Serves as the central communication post during fire and disaster emergencies
  • Issues badges and keys to case workers, attorneys, case managers, and other visitors as appropriate
  • Notifies appropriate staff of the arrival of individuals to be admitted or enrolled
  • Uses telephone etiquette at all times
  • Receives, stamps, sorts, and distributes incoming mail
  • Prepares outgoing mail
  • Maintains copy machine paper supply
  • Maintains daily cash and check log
  • Maintains members served APE's and NPE's
  • Maintains members served C5s and DLTs for conservatorship purposes
  • Maintains office supplies
  • Conducts reference checks
  • Schedules pre-placement physical exams, PPDs, and Ability Testing
  • Processes criminal background checks
  • Verifies licensed staff with the board
  • Schedules annual physical and PPDs
  • Obtains re-verification of renewal license annually
  • Ensures timely and complete performance evaluations
  • Logs and tracks incoming resumes and applications
  • Forwards incoming resumes and applications to hiring managers
  • Completes and maintains monthly applicant tracking reports
  • Sends acknowledgement applicant postcards and emails
  • Acts professionally representing Telecare with respect and understanding in the community
