Job Requirements

  • High school or GED required
  • prior customer service or administrative experience preferred
  • excellent business grammar and communication skills
  • passion to work with elders
  • ability to maintain confidentiality
  • experience with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • high level of accuracy in data entry
  • ability to move packages and supplies weighing up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • able to communicate effectively in English
  • strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain good working relationships with team members, residents, family members, visitors, and government agencies

Job Duties

  • Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, welcome and positive emphasis
  • answers multi-line telephone
  • determines nature of call and directs caller to appropriate individual or department
  • receives inquiries from staff, residents and guests and releases information in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • manages projects/assignments independently using more complex data systems
  • helps with all administrative tasks such as filing, copying, mailings, composing and typing confidential/medical material, formatting/revising documents
  • takes initiative to think of new ideas and processes to help residents and staff
  • assists residents as requested/needed
  • handles maintenance requests and calls nurse as needed
  • ensures guests/visitors abide by rules and reports suspicious information to Security
  • manages guest room inquiries and assists with check-in/check-out
  • assists with assigning storage, garage and carport spaces
  • performs administrative duties for resident committees
  • assists in emergency situations as assigned
  • receives, sorts and distributes mail and deliveries
  • maintains cash box and sells stamps, copies and meal tickets
  • operates and maintains office equipment
  • maintains reports and lists such as Resident Absent Report and Door Check Report
