  • must have working knowledge of and strong commitment to the mission of the Diocese and Catholic School
  • if Catholic, must be in communion with the Church

Job Qualifications

  • high school graduate or equivalent
  • minimum three years’ experience as a receptionist in small, medium or large firm or equivalent experience
  • excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • strong human relations and interpersonal skills
  • proficiency in computer technology including word processing, spreadsheets, and internet research
  • minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute
  • ability to maintain confidentiality
  • ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • professional bearing with clean and neat personal appearance

Job Duties

  • support the school’s spiritual and pastoral mission
  • abide by Catholic principles in professional and private life
  • foster communication and work collaboratively with office staff and faculty
  • answer and handle incoming telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner
  • distribute mail daily and perform mailings as necessary
  • maintain sign in logs and records
  • prioritize, coordinate and schedule calendar requests
  • maintain and ensure accuracy of the calendar
  • receive and handle all incoming calls and visitors professionally
  • screen and handle requests for information
  • be knowledgeable of school rules and events
  • handle all correspondence and maintain files and documentation
  • provide staff support to parish staff and others
  • collect, maintain, and deposit funds using school database
  • maintain accurate attendance records for students
  • receive payments, notes, scrip orders and disseminate to appropriate personnel
  • retrieve phone messages
  • administer tardy/admit slips to students
  • maintain and update student information system
  • assist with processing paperwork
  • attend to visitors' needs and maintain reception area
  • participate in emergency evacuation processes and monitor sign in logs
  • provide support to school personnel
  • perform other duties as assigned
