Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- minimum one year clerical experience or completion of secretarial science program
- ability to interact tactfully with various individuals
- ability to follow instructions
- proficiency with 10-key calculator and basic computer skills
- ability to pass background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screening
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- at least one year of experience in a clerical position or completion of a secretarial science program from an accredited school or college
- ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public
- ability to follow written and oral instructions
- proficiency in using a 10-key calculator and working knowledge of computers and data input, output, and retrieval
- successful completion of background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screening
Job Duties
- Receive and follow reception schedule and instructions from supervisor and established policies and procedures
- operate paging and telephone system as required
- answer telephones, determine nature of calls and direct callers to appropriate individual or department
- receive requests from within the facility and locate personnel through paging system
- receive inquiries and release information in accordance with policies and procedures
- maintain a current file and listing of residents by name and room number, emergency phone numbers of on-call personnel, department extensions, key personnel
- maintain a current listing of critical residents and/or residents who may not receive phone calls due to their condition, referring those calls to the Nurse Supervisor or Charge Nurse
