Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in a medical or general reception role preferred
- Basic keyboarding skills
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to follow policies and procedures
- Basic familiarity with medical terminology and Epic system
- Commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous medical reception or general reception experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Basic knowledge of Epic EMR preferred
- Good interpersonal and written communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a clean and organized reception area
- Understanding of privacy and confidentiality standards in healthcare
Job Duties
- Answers incoming telephone calls and forwards to appropriate personnel
- Retrieves and routes voicemail messages
- Provides information about organization, physicians, and services
- Welcomes and announces on-site visitors
- Monitors visitor access and issues passes
- Receives, sorts, and routes mail
- Orders and maintains office supplies
- Maintains fax machines and sends/receives faxes
- Creates and prints documents as needed
- Schedules patient appointments
- Registers patients in Epic EMR system
- Updates patient demographics and insurance information
- Collects signed HIPAA and consent documents
- Reviews alerts in Epic and refers patients as needed
- Collects co-payments and performs cashiering
- Processes payments and deposits per policy
- Balances cash drawer daily
- Assists patients with MyChart sign-up
- Responds to MyChart messages timely
- Safeguards patient privacy
- Prepares and routes schedules for registration
- Reviews work queues and corrects registration errors
- Utilizes Epic waitlists and manages no-shows and cancellations
