Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of related experience
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Strong communication skills

Job Duties

  • Act as the first point of contact for students, staff, and clients entering the building, providing a welcoming and warm environment
  • Greet, check in, and check out clients for salon and retail services in a friendly and professional manner
  • Take payments from clients for services provided and issue receipts, following established payment policies and procedures
  • Schedule client services, assist with changes and cancellations, and confirm appointments with clients
  • Serve as customer service liaison to salon clients, answering questions about service offerings, prices, and availability
  • Address any concerns or complaints in a calm and professional manner, escalating issues as needed
  • Assist in training students as receptionists for the industry by providing instruction in scheduling clients and telephone etiquette
  • Support faculty by providing students with accurate and necessary information to complete tasks
  • Provide general office support, assisting with clerical duties, data entry, and related tasks
  • Answer incoming calls and take messages, directing callers to the appropriate parties as necessary
  • Respond to email inquiries
  • Accept deliveries and maintain a neat and orderly reception desk
  • Assist classroom instructor with dispensing salon products
  • Monitor supply inventory and notify appropriate personnel when ordering is needed
  • Substitute at the Regnier Testing Center when additional coverage is needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
