Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • at least 1 year of related experience
  • ability to work 8:00 am to 1:30 pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays, with additional hours as needed
  • strong customer service orientation
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • basic proficiency with office software and telephone systems
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • willingness to serve as backup in other areas such as the testing center

Job Duties

  • act as the first point of contact for students, staff, and clients entering the building, providing a welcoming and warm environment
  • greet, check in, and check out clients for salon and retail services in a friendly and professional manner
  • take payments from clients for services provided and issue receipts, following established payment policies and procedures
  • schedule client services, assist with changes and cancellations, and confirm appointments with clients
  • serve as customer service liaison to salon clients, answering questions about service offerings, prices, and availability, addressing any concerns or complaints professionally and escalating as needed
  • assist in training students as receptionists for the industry by providing instruction in scheduling clients and telephone etiquette, and supporting faculty by providing students with accurate and necessary information
  • provide general office support including clerical duties, data entry, and related tasks
  • answer incoming calls and take messages, directing callers to the appropriate parties as necessary, and respond to email inquiries
  • accept deliveries and maintain a neat and orderly reception desk
  • assist classroom instructor with dispensing salon products
  • monitor supply inventory and notify appropriate personnel when ordering is needed
  • substitute at the Regnier Testing Center when additional coverage is needed
