Job Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Experience helpful but not required
- Minimum typing skills of 35 wpm
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of functions and relationships of departments within a nursing home environment preferred
- Ability to handle multiple demands simultaneously
- Manual dexterity and coordination for equipment use
- Ability to receive and express detailed information through oral communication
- Ability to read and understand written directions
- Occasionally lifts and transports items up to 10 lbs

Job Duties
- Greets and directs residents, visitors, employees, physicians, and others inquiring parties in a cheerful and helpful manner 100% of the time
- Answers all telephone calls by the third ring, identifying oneself by name and the facility and providing assistance according to department procedures
- Alerts supervisor or seeks guidance with any questionable phone calls, individuals, residents, or employee concerns
- Accepts, documents, and delivers pertinent information and messages to appropriate personnel accurately and timely
- Keeps workstation neat and reports equipment failures or unusual circumstances
- Prepares, types, copies, and distributes documents with 100% accuracy per department procedures
- Monitors all residents, guests, and individuals entering or leaving the facility
- Ensures residents leaving with family or guests are properly signed out
- Opens, sorts, and distributes office mail promptly
- Ensures coverage of receptionist duties during breaks and lunch by logging in relief
- May be assigned other duties as appropriate
