Job Requirements

  • must be able to sit, stand and walk throughout the workday
  • ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
  • meet general health requirements including annual TB screening and physical exam
  • able to see and hear adequately or with prosthetics
  • capable of coping with mental and emotional stress
  • able to follow written and verbal directions

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in reception or clerical role preferred
  • ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • demonstrate honesty, integrity and professionalism
  • ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
  • knowledge of confidentiality practices
  • ability to remain calm in emergency situations
  • computer proficiency and familiarity with office equipment
  • understanding of resident rights and dignity
  • ability to maintain neat and professional appearance
  • compliance with dress code and safety policies

Job Duties

  • create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis
  • follow reception schedule and instructions as directed
  • greet visitors cheerfully and provide guided tours
  • operate telephone system by answering and directing calls appropriately
  • receive inquiries and release information according to procedures
  • maintain current files of residents, emergency contacts, and key personnel
  • ensure guests abide by rules and refuse admission as directed
  • assist with administrative duties such as typing, filing, and posting accounts
  • receive, sort and distribute mail
  • operate office machines including computer, copier and fax
  • follow safety procedures when using equipment
  • follow ergonomics policies and report unsafe conditions
  • maintain neat work areas
  • order supplies and verify deliveries
  • assist department heads with administrative matters as requested
