Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a receptionist or customer service role preferred
  • Basic knowledge of telephone and paging systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively over the phone and in person
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Capacity to demonstrate patience and self-discipline
  • Willingness to learn and comply with facility policies and safety procedures

Job Duties

  • Manages the telephone and switchboard including operating paging and telephone system as required
  • Answers calls timely and courteously
  • Directs calls promptly and accurately
  • Assists visitors upon arrival including greeting visitors courteously, providing directions, contacting the person they have come to visit, and ensuring all visitors/vendors sign in
  • Demonstrates customer service skills in every interaction by greeting people effectively, offering assistance, maintaining a neat work area, and focusing attention on the front entrance
  • Performs other clerical duties as assigned including assisting with special tasks or projects, handling mail and filing, preparing informational packets and brochures, assisting with administrative duties such as filing, posting accounts, data entry, ordering supplies, attending in-service education programs, being familiar with safety procedures, maintaining confidentiality of records, and protecting residents from neglect, mistreatment, and abuse
