Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bilingual Spanish-English communication skills
  • Completion of mandatory Child Protection Clearances under PA Act 153 including PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check
  • Ability to work full time Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
  • Strong interpersonal and telephone skills
  • Support for The Salvation Army's mission

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Valid PA Driver's License
  • Excellent telephone and interpersonal skills
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
  • Bilingual Spanish-English in verbal and written communication
  • Child Protection Clearances as required by PA Act 153 including PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check
  • Understanding of and support for the Mission of The Salvation Army

Job Duties

  • Administrative duties such as greeting individuals coming into the building, answering phones, receiving/sending faxes, filing for the Family Services Department
  • Professionally greet everyone who calls or comes to the building and appropriately refer them to the right staff member
  • Ensure that visitors are signed in and out of the building to ensure security within the building
  • Perform pre-screens for Family Services clients including providing an explanation of all required documentation for appointments and program eligibility
  • Provide paperwork for utility and other services as needed including collecting and copying documentation required by each program
  • Schedule clients for appointments within the Family Services Department
  • Refer clients to other agencies when appropriate
  • Process in-kind donations according to policy, including organizing and rotating daily donations in the reception area
  • Assist in maintaining and updating the Social Services Database, Healthify Database, Internal Referral Tracking, etc. to ensure accurate records as needed for statistical and billing purposes
  • Assist in the completion of UGI CAP/OpSHARE phone calls and enrollments, including ordering UGI paperwork
  • Assist in the distribution of food, clothing or other commodities, including Thanksgiving and Christmas assistance programs as necessary
  • Assist with home visits as needed
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned
