Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- 2-4 years of experience as a receptionist preferred
- ability to provide excellent customer service
- strong communication skills
- proficiency in telephone and computer systems
- ability to manage multiple tasks
- capability to work day and evening shifts on a per diem basis
- willing to assist departments as needed
- able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

- proficiency with telephone systems and computer applications

Job Duties
- Greet visitors, patients, and associates entering the facility
- provide customer service to all who enter the building
- assist with all transportation needs of patients
- complete primary customers' purpose by addressing their needs and directing them to proper destinations
- answer phones and route calls to appropriate locations
- assist Facilities Assistant with closing out preventative maintenance work orders
- maintain up-to-date phone directories including emergency contacts for outside contractors
- maintain a listing of all Do Not Announce patients and update as needed
- coordinate customer service requests with all Good Shepherd departments
- assist Admissions with after-hour admissions
- facilitate telephone calls made to the facility’s main telephone numbers by directing calls to proper destinations
- maintain safe and healthy work environment by coordinating code calls and alarm messages
- keep up-to-date emergency numbers, department directories, key personnel directories and patient room and telephone extension directories
- distribute information by routing mail and memos to proper recipients and utilizing hospital computer systems
- contribute to a positive work environment by addressing work duties and customer concerns effectively
- contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
