Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • five years of receptionist or customer service experience
  • 5-10 years computer and Microsoft Office experience
  • ability to operate a multi-line phone system
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to see, hear and speak adequately
  • ability to understand and write English
  • physical ability to sit for long periods, bend, stoop, push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds
  • ability to work in a dynamic, often interrupted environment
  • ability to maintain confidentiality
  • calm and professional demeanor
  • flexible, creative and positive attitude
  • ability to work cooperatively in a team
  • knowledge of safety policies and emergency procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • five years of experience as a receptionist or in a customer service role
  • 5-10 years of computer and Microsoft Office experience
  • ability to operate a multi-line telephone system
  • effective and professional communication skills on telephone and in person
  • ability to see, hear and speak adequately
  • proficiency in English for oral and written communication
  • ability to interact respectfully and courteously with residents, visitors, vendors and guests

Job Duties

  • Operate telephone, paging and two-way handheld radio systems professionally and courteously
  • answer calls promptly within two rings
  • take clear, accurate and concise messages and route them to appropriate individuals in a timely manner
  • greet residents, staff, visitors and vendors professionally and courteously
  • screen and direct vendors and guests to appropriate personnel
  • update telephone and emergency roster lists and distribute to personnel
  • maintain and update resident census regularly
  • announce activities and pertinent information as assigned
  • schedule evening, weekend and substitute receptionist coverage under supervision
  • handle incoming and outgoing mail and packages carefully
  • coordinate appointments and transportation for residents
  • perform clerical tasks such as copying, typing, labeling, stuffing and sealing envelopes
  • communicate with Operations and Environmental Services to address facility and housekeeping needs
  • maintain a neat, safe and welcoming work area and lobby
  • maintain resident, visitor and vendor sign-in and sign-out sheets
  • participate in safety programs and follow protocols
  • respond appropriately to emergencies by contacting hospital security or 911
  • accept assigned duties cooperatively
  • perform other duties as assigned
