Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum three year office experience, preferably in a medical setting
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Proficiency with computer systems
  • Availability to work full-time
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods
  • Manual and finger dexterity for computer work
  • Corrected vision and hearing to normal range for telephone contacts
  • Pass background check and non-Federal drug test (excluding marijuana)
  • Proof of influenza vaccination upon employment
  • Ability to lift files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds occasionally

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum three years office experience, preferably in a medical setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with computer systems
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel a plus
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clinical and administrative staff

Job Duties

  • Greet patients and visitors into the clinic in a prompt, courteous and professional manner
  • Obtain all appropriate forms as required
  • Obtain demographic and insurance information and copies of insurance cards and driver's licenses for files
  • Update demographic and insurance information in the system as needed
  • Register all new patients into the system
  • Notify nursing staff of patient arrivals and place charts in appointment order
  • Assist in preparing charts for next day’s appointments and print schedules as needed
  • Collect co-pays, deductibles, and other out-of-pocket amounts at time of visit and issue receipts if necessary
  • Distribute condolence cards to patients' families as requested
  • Maintain lobby area in a neat and orderly manner
  • Identify no-shows and forward for patient notification
  • Demonstrate an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and clinic/corporation
  • Follow policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the front office
  • Cover for other front office functions as requested
