Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Ability to work full-time evening shift from 11:00am to 7:30pm including rotating weekends and holidays
  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Strong computer and communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
  • Physical ability to perform reception duties
  • Availability to train and supervise volunteers
  • Adherence to hospital policies and procedures

  • Ability to work with diverse patient populations
  • Knowledge of hospital policies related to patient privacy and security
  • Experience in a healthcare or administrative setting preferred

Job Duties

  • Greet patients and visitors courteously as they approach the desk
  • Offer assistance and provide accurate information and directions
  • Exhibit friendly and helpful behavior by anticipating and responding to needs
  • Demonstrate proficiency in computer use
  • Ensure visitors and callers receive accurate information
  • Answer telephone calls promptly and appropriately
  • Adhere to policy when transferring calls and handling patient information
  • Demonstrate telephone courtesy and positive guest relations
  • Possess general knowledge of all department locations throughout the hospital
  • Communicate effectively with a diverse patient population including infants to geriatrics
  • Understand hospital policies on courtesy parking and patient privacy
  • Check and assign vendor passes
  • Verify employee ID badges
  • Monitor and report suspicious activities to security
  • Assist in training and supervising volunteers at the info desk
  • Demonstrate sensitivity and tact in volunteer interactions
  • Support additional Reception Services and Security department functions as needed
