Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • one year reception experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • proficiency in basic computer applications
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to maintain confidentiality
  • effective organizational skills
  • ability to work flexible hours as needed

Job Qualifications

  • one year of reception experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
  • general computer skills including data entry, word processing, email and record management
  • effective organizational and time management skills
  • effective written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to maintain quality and safety standards
  • ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality
  • ability to work closely and professionally with others

Job Duties

  • provide hospital telecommunication services via telephones, pagers, paging system, radio or computer to connect communication between visitors, callers, staff, patients and patients' families
  • maintain telecommunications records such as long distance calls, on-call employees and pages
  • coordinate effectively to ensure seamless communication flow in hospital operations
  • uphold confidentiality and safety standards in all communications
  • demonstrate professionalism while working closely with hospital staff and visitors
  • manage and respond to incoming calls and inquiries promptly
  • utilize electronic systems for data entry, email, and record management
