Job Requirements
- high school diploma preferred
- experience in skilled nursing or related health field preferred
- provide evidence of being free of tuberculosis infection upon hire and as required by facility policies
- ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- possess ability to make independent decisions
- possess ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the public
- demonstrate patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, enthusiasm, and willingness to handle difficult residents
- follow written and oral instructions
- availability for on-call schedule including weekends and 3pm-8pm shifts
- must work beyond normal hours on weekends and holidays when necessary

Job Duties
- perform all duties as set forth in established policies and procedures
- adhere to and assure compliance with code of conduct and all applicable rules and regulations
- ensure all staff complete required compliance training
- receive and follow reception schedule and instructions
- operate paging and telephone system
- answer telephone and direct callers
- receive and locate personnel through paging system
- manage inquiries and release information per policy
- maintain current listing of critical residents and restrict calls as required
- greet and screen visitors
- direct visitors to appropriate locations
- screen visitors according to infection control standards
- provide directions and information to visitors and staff
- offer beverages to waiting visitors
- issue and collect identification badges
- enforce guest and visitor rules and refuse admission as directed
- report suspicious persons or information
- assist with administrative duties including typing, filing, and posting accounts
- receive, sort and distribute mail
- operate copier and office machines
- operate computer as directed
- order supplies
- assist department directors with administrative tasks
- perform other related duties as necessary
