Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to communicate well verbally and in writing
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Must interact calmly and professionally with staff, visitors, and residents
  • Must handle emergency and stressful situations positively and calmly
  • Must enjoy contact with and have compassion for seniors
  • Must present self well dressed, neat, and well groomed
  • Must promote a positive and professional image of St. Paul's at all times
  • Must be capable of using good judgment and acting independently with little supervision
  • Must be able to operate telephone systems, intercoms, door opening systems, and sort postal deliveries
  • Must be able to understand and operate facility fire panels and CCTV security systems
  • Must clear DOJ and FBI fingerprint checks
  • Must clear drug screening

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a field requiring contact with the public highly desired
  • Current CPR certification
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to speak fluently in English
  • Calm and professional demeanor in stressful and emergency situations
  • Compassion for seniors
  • Ability to operate telephone systems, intercoms, door opening mechanisms, and sort postal deliveries
  • Understanding and operation of facility fire panels and CCTV security systems
  • Ability to promote a positive and professional image of St. Paul's
  • Capable of using good judgment and acting independently with minimal supervision

Job Duties

  • Monitors all security doors and gates leading into facility and garage
  • Maintain security of building at all times
  • Interacts with and implements security instructions from the Facilities Manager
  • Understands all emergency and security alarm systems, intercoms, and telephone systems at all St. Paul's facilities
  • Attends required training on emergency alarm and communication systems
  • Coordinates training of other staff on emergency alarms and communication systems as requested
  • Utilizes emergency telephone, pager, and disaster contact lists, policies, and procedures
  • Ensures radio contact at all times between Manor and Villa and with CCC during open hours
  • Performs radio checks with other facilities and security personnel during day and evening
  • Reports problems to the Facilities Manager promptly
  • Processes residents' requests for service, repairs, food trays, and emergency help
