Job Requirements

  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
  • Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that enable these senses
  • Must meet health requirements including annual TB screening and physical examination
  • Must be able to sit, stand and walk
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
  • Must cope with mental and emotional stress of the position
  • Able to understand and follow written and verbal directions
  • Able to express self adequately in oral and written communication

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a receptionist or clerical role preferred
  • Proficient in operating telephone systems and office equipment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
  • Experience working in healthcare or a similar environment is an asset
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Demonstrated honesty and integrity

Job Duties

  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth and positive emphasis
  • Follow reception schedule instructions as directed
  • Greet visitors cheerfully and provide guided tours
  • Operate telephone system and direct calls appropriately
  • Receive inquiries and release information according to procedures
  • Maintain current files and listings of residents and key personnel
  • Ensure guests abide by existing rules and report suspicious persons
  • Assist with administrative duties including typing, filing, and posting accounts
  • Receive, sort, and distribute mail
  • Operate office machines safely and follow safety procedures
  • Follow ergonomics policies to prevent injuries
  • Report unsafe conditions immediately
  • Maintain clean and neat work areas
  • Order supplies and ensure delivery completeness
  • Assist department heads with administrative matters
