Job Requirements
- Must be able to sit, stand and walk for extended periods
- must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- must meet general health requirements including annual TB screening and physical exam
- must be able to see and hear adequately with or without prosthetics
- ability to move intermittently throughout the workday
- ability to cope with mental and emotional stress of skilled care environment
- must be neat and clean in appearance and comply with dress code
- ability to carry out essential job functions with or without accommodation without risk to self or others
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in a receptionist or clerical role preferred
- proficiency in using office equipment and computers
- strong communication skills both oral and written
- ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- understanding of confidentiality requirements
- ability to maintain composure in emergency situations
- knowledge of basic administrative procedures
- ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- interpersonal skills to interact tactfully with staff, residents and the public
Job Duties
- Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis
- follow reception schedule and instructions as directed
- greet visitors cheerfully, answer questions and provide guided tours as necessary
- operate telephone system, answer calls and direct accordingly
- receive inquiries and release information in accordance with procedures
- maintain current files and listings of residents and emergency contacts
- ensure guests abide by rules and report suspicious persons
- assist with administrative duties such as typing, filing and posting accounts
- receive, sort and distribute mail
- operate computer, copier, fax machine and office equipment following safety procedures
- follow ergonomics and safety policies to prevent injuries
- report unsafe conditions immediately
- maintain neat and clean work areas
- order supplies and ensure complete delivery
- assist department heads with administrative matters as requested
