Job Requirements

  • Must be able to sit, stand and walk for extended periods
  • must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
  • must meet general health requirements including annual TB screening and physical exam
  • must be able to see and hear adequately with or without prosthetics
  • ability to move intermittently throughout the workday
  • ability to cope with mental and emotional stress of skilled care environment
  • must be neat and clean in appearance and comply with dress code
  • ability to carry out essential job functions with or without accommodation without risk to self or others

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in a receptionist or clerical role preferred
  • proficiency in using office equipment and computers
  • strong communication skills both oral and written
  • ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • understanding of confidentiality requirements
  • ability to maintain composure in emergency situations
  • knowledge of basic administrative procedures
  • ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • interpersonal skills to interact tactfully with staff, residents and the public

Job Duties

  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis
  • follow reception schedule and instructions as directed
  • greet visitors cheerfully, answer questions and provide guided tours as necessary
  • operate telephone system, answer calls and direct accordingly
  • receive inquiries and release information in accordance with procedures
  • maintain current files and listings of residents and emergency contacts
  • ensure guests abide by rules and report suspicious persons
  • assist with administrative duties such as typing, filing and posting accounts
  • receive, sort and distribute mail
  • operate computer, copier, fax machine and office equipment following safety procedures
  • follow ergonomics and safety policies to prevent injuries
  • report unsafe conditions immediately
  • maintain neat and clean work areas
  • order supplies and ensure complete delivery
  • assist department heads with administrative matters as requested
