Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prefer one year work experience in medical front office
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and computer applications
  • Knowledge of medical front office procedures
  • Experience with Cerner scheduling system
  • Ability to handle multi-line phone systems
  • Capability to complete insurance verification and authorization
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of medical terminology desirable
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and computers
  • Knowledge of medical front office procedures
  • Familiarity with Cerner computer scheduling system
  • Ability to use Windows-based software programs
  • Skill in greeting patients and answering a busy multi-line telephone
  • Skill in operating a computer, photocopy machine, and telephone system

Job Duties

  • Greet and check patients out after clinic appointments
  • Schedule return appointments
  • Collect co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance
  • Complete authorization process and verify insurance benefits
  • Greet and check in patients arriving for clinic appointments
  • Ensure proper paperwork is completed
  • Route patient charts to appropriate locations
  • Serve as a liaison between patients and medical support staff
