Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a healthcare or medical office setting preferred
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA regulations
- Proficient in scheduling and record management

Job Duties
- Welcomes patients and visitors in person or on the telephone, answering or referring inquiries professionally and courteously
- Provides patients with intake and new patient forms as well as copies of legally required documents
- Complies with maintaining logs needed for state compliance
- Schedules appointments for new and recurring patients based on provider availability
- Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying providers of patient arrival and reminding them of service delays
- Ensures follow-up appointments are scheduled appropriately
- Calls patients to remind them of upcoming appointments and to assist in scheduling off-site testing
- Provides patients with support and guidance as needed
- Files and retrieves patient records to ensure availability of treatment information
- Verifies and obtains insurance eligibility and benefits for primary and secondary insurances
- Answers, screens, and forwards incoming calls appropriately
- Records and collects patient charges to obtain revenue
- Maintains waiting area cleanliness and orderliness
- Maintains patient accounts by updating personal and financial insurance information
- Inventories and orders office supplies, equipment, forms, and medications
- Completes assigned education, competencies, and training
- Attends scheduled work and departmental meetings regularly
- Promotes safety culture and immediately reports incidents
- Abides by Code of Conduct and supports organizational mission and values
- Follows Departmental and Hospital policies including social media and confidentiality policies
- Provides excellent customer service internally and externally
- Uses only hospital approved cleaning agents as instructed
