Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • customer service experience preferred
  • ability to work Monday through Friday with rotating weekends and holidays
  • availability for day shift
  • part-time availability for 32 hours per week
  • proficiency in computer use and telephone etiquette
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • knowledge of patient privacy and hospital security procedures

Job Duties

  • Greet patients and visitors in a courteous manner
  • offer assistance and provide accurate information and directions
  • exhibit friendly and helpful behavior anticipating patient and visitor needs
  • demonstrate proficiency in computer use
  • ensure visitors and callers receive accurate information
  • answer telephone calls promptly and appropriately
  • adhere to department policy regarding call transfers and patient information dissemination
  • demonstrate telephone courtesy and positive guest relations
  • maintain knowledge of all department locations within the hospital
  • communicate effectively with diverse patient populations
  • uphold hospital policies regarding courtesy parking and patient privacy
  • check and assign vendor passes
  • verify employee ID badges
  • monitor and report suspicious activities to security
  • assist in training and supervising volunteers at the information desk
  • perform other duties related to reception services and security as needed
