Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in a medical or healthcare setting
  • ability to handle multiple incoming calls and visitors efficiently
  • strong interpersonal skills
  • basic computer skills including Microsoft Office proficiency
  • ability to document accurately and maintain confidentiality
  • excellent problem-solving skills
  • capacity to work Monday through Friday, 7:15 AM to 5 PM
  • commitment to HIPAA compliance
  • bilingual ability preferred

Job Qualifications

  • medical setting experience
  • strong organizational skills
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to remain calm and helpful when dealing with upset customers
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • experience in EMR systems like E-Clinical Works, Epic, Athena Health, or NextGen preferred
  • two years of front desk experience in a medical setting preferred
  • customer service experience
  • knowledge of and strict adherence to HIPAA regulations
  • bilingual in English and Spanish (read, write, and speak) preferred

Job Duties

  • answer phone calls utilizing a Genesys system
  • ensure accurate and timely processing of all requests by scheduling appointments, taking messages, and transferring calls to appropriate staff
  • maintain thorough records by documenting discussions, messages, and actions taken
  • resolve patient issues through independent problem solving aiming for first call resolution
  • accommodate visitors promptly and courteously
  • perform basic administrative, clerical, operational, customer support, and computational tasks
  • collaborate with cross-functional departments to improve customer experience
