Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years experience managing a multi-line telephone switchboard
  • Prior experience in a healthcare or hospital environment preferred
  • Ability to work occasional overtime and flexible hours
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Dependability and organizational skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Two years experience on a multi-line telephone switchboard preferably in a healthcare environment
  • Experience with hospital or healthcare administrative tasks preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer proficiency and data entry skills
  • Flexibility to work occasional overtime and flexible hours

Job Duties

  • Greet and assist all visitors following the facility guest relations program
  • Answer and disseminate all incoming calls on the switchboard in a professional and courteous manner within three rings
  • Utilize the paging system to announce callers as required
  • Collate admission folders as required
  • Keypunch revised patient data as required
  • Complete administrative duties for the Admissions department as required
  • Process all outgoing and incoming mail
  • Maintain schedule for the receptionists and ensure coverage for all shifts
  • Inform weekend receptionists of policy changes made during the week
  • Input authorization letters in patient files
  • Reconcile monthly petty cash for Business Office Director
  • Reconcile daily dietary cash
  • Coordinate outside meetings with room assignments
  • Perform data entry of step-downs into HMS
  • Stamp, date lab results, and distribute
