Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of medical office experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate professionally verbally and non-verbally
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to follow hospital financial and admitting policies

  • Professional appearance

Job Duties

  • Greet patients on admission
  • Verify patient information as necessary
  • Obtain required patient information, copies of insurance cards, and signatures
  • Collect patient co-payments, co-insurance or deductible payments
  • Notify appropriate staff of patient arrival and admission
  • Ensure patients are aware of any potential observers and initiate proper paperwork
  • Ensure all vendors are properly checked-in before authorizing admittance into patient care areas
  • Keep family members informed of patient’s status during their stay in the center
