Job Requirements

  • Valid, in-force driver's license with an MVR acceptable to the agency
  • minimum high school diploma or GED
  • at least three months of related office experience or prior typing/data input roles
  • ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English
  • proficiency in basic math operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software
  • must be able to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • ability to provide professional and courteous interaction with clients and visitors
  • adhere to agency policies and confidentiality standards

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED

  • ability to comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • must be able to communicate information and respond to questions effectively with clients, company personnel, and others
  • basic knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet programs

  • must have the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • ability to apply common sense understanding, interpret, and carry out instructions in insurance and general office situations
  • must be able to work with minimal supervision

Job Duties

  • Greets and directs clients and visitors
  • answers, screens, and transfers inbound phone calls
  • screens calls for unsolicited sales presentations
  • receives daily incoming mail and distributes it to the appropriate individuals
  • handles all outgoing priority mail items for the agency
  • distributes incoming facsimiles to the appropriate individual
  • monitors outgoing facsimiles to ensure they are sent
  • maintains a professional-looking reception area
  • organizes, monitors, and restocks office supplies
  • schedules meetings, appointments, and travel for managers or supervisors as requested
  • sets up agency customer files (computer and/or paper)
  • prepares memos, correspondence, reports, and other documents
  • assists personal and commercial lines departments with data entry to customer accounts
  • performs a variety of other clerical duties as required by the agency
