Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- minimum of one year clerical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- proficiency in typing with speed and accuracy
- working knowledge of standard office equipment including telephone, computer, printer, fax, copier, and calculator
- strong communication skills including grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- ability to read and interpret county maps
- ability to follow oral and written instructions
- ability to work collaboratively in a team
- ability to maintain confidentiality of records
- ability to handle challenging public interactions professionally
- adherence to attendance, safety, drug-free workplace, and personal conduct policies

Job Duties
- Answer telephone and handle disgruntled people professionally
- greet office visitors and provide information or direct to appropriate individuals
- enter engineering plans, drainage calculations, permits, bonds, and submittals into Posse system
- receive and balance fees for permits, maps, copies, and ABC permits
- conduct research through Minutes Book and drain files
- scan documents and attach them to appropriate jobs
- assist in proofreading drain reconstruction bills and preparing notices
- assist the public by making copies, completing forms, answering questions about drainage assessments and hearings, and researching information
- complete inspection work orders for drainage problems
- enter data on computer and type, copy, file, and distribute documents
- pick up and distribute department mail
- periodically perform duties of other clerical personnel including taking minutes for various boards and committees
- perform related duties as assigned
