Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Preferred experience in general office work
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret scientific and technical documents
  • Strong verbal communication skills in English
  • Mathematical skills including basic arithmetic with whole numbers, fractions and decimals
  • Effective communication and customer service skills
  • Empathy and tact in interactions with patients, families and staff

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Experience in general office work preferred
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical information
  • Strong verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, fractions and decimals
  • Basic understanding of units of weight measurement and volume
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills
  • Empathy and ability to interact effectively with patients, families, staff and outside agencies
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Job Duties

  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis throughout the facility
  • Follow reception schedule and instructions as directed according to facility policies
  • Greet visitors cheerfully, answer questions and provide guided tours of the facility as necessary
  • Operate telephone system, answer phones, determine nature of calls and direct them appropriately
  • Receive inquiries and release information per established procedures
  • Maintain current file and listing of residents by name, room number, and emergency contacts
  • Ensure guests and visitors abide by facility rules and report suspicious persons to supervisor
  • Assist with administrative duties including typing, filing and posting accounts
  • Receive, sort and distribute mail
  • Operate computer, copier, fax machine, and other office equipment safely
  • Follow ergonomics policies and safety procedures to prevent work-related injuries
  • Report unsafe or hazardous conditions immediately
  • Maintain neat and clean work areas
  • Order supplies as directed and ensure deliveries are complete
  • Assist department heads with administrative tasks as requested
  • Demonstrate respect for resident rights, dignity and individuality in all interactions
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility information
  • Demonstrate honesty and integrity in care and use of resident and facility property
  • Comply with dress code and maintain appropriate office attire
  • Understand and follow written and verbal directions
  • Communicate effectively and tactfully with staff, residents, and public
  • Prioritize tasks and complete duties within allocated time frames
  • Make independent decisions calmly, especially in emergencies
  • Respond productively to changes and additional tasks
  • Carry out job functions without risk of harm to self or others
  • Perform other duties as assigned
