Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum five years office experience preferably in a medical setting
- Ability to sit for long periods
- Ability to stoop, bend and stretch for files and supplies
- Occasionally lift files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds
- Manual dexterity to operate office equipment
- Correctable vision to 20/20
- Normal hearing for telephone contacts
- Ability to view and type on computer screens for prolonged periods
- Background check and non-federal drug test post offer of employment
- Proof of influenza vaccination upon commencing employment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum five years office experience, preferably in medical setting
- Ability to operate a keyboard, calculator, telephone, copier and other office equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational skills
- Correctable vision to 20/20 and normal hearing
- Commitment to providing compassionate patient support
Job Duties
- Greet patients and visitors into the clinic in a prompt, courteous and professional manner
- Obtain all appropriate forms as required
- Obtain demographic and insurance information
- Obtain copy of patient’s insurance cards and current driver's license for file
- Update demographic and insurance information as needed in the system
- Register all new patients into the system
- Prepare and organize new patient charts
- Notify nursing staff of patient arrivals, placing charts in appointment order
- Collect co-pays, deductibles and other out of pocket amounts at time of visit
- Distribute condolence cards to patients families as requested
- Maintain lobby area in a neat and orderly manner
- Identify no shows and forward for patient notification
- Demonstrate understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and clinic
- Follow policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the front office
